Medical Thermography
Medical thermography (also called infrared thermography) is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses a special infrared camera to measure heat patterns on the surface of the body.
How it works
The camera detects infrared radiation (heat) coming from your skin and produces a thermal image showing areas that are relatively warmer or cooler.
Changes in skin temperature can sometimes be associated with things such as:
Increased blood flow or inflammation
Certain circulation problems
Nerve-related abnormalities
Musculoskeletal inflammation or injury
Changes in skin temperature associated with some medical conditions
Is it safe?
Yes. Thermography is generally considered non-contact and non-invasive. It doesn't use X-rays or other ionizing radiation.
