What does an esthetician do?

Depending on their training and state licensing, an esthetician may provide services such as:

• Waxing and hair removal

• Chemical peels within their permitted scope

• Acne and skin-care support

• Product recommendations and skincare routines

Esthetician vs. dermatologist

They are different professions:

• Esthetician: Focuses primarily on skin care, appearance, and non-medical treatments.

• Dermatologist: A medical doctor who diagnoses and treats diseases and medical conditions of the skin, hair, and nails.
